UCLH DIAGNOSTIC SCANNER

The project consisted of the remodelling and refurbishment of part of the radiology department to accommodate a new digital diagnostic scanner and control equipment. The Radiology Department is located at basement level in The National Hospital for Neurology and Neuroscience (part of UCLH) and was required to be fully functional for the entire course of our works.

Access to street level was very limited (via one staircase and a shared lift), therefore close liaison and effective communication between our site manager and the clinical and administrative staff was absolutely vital to ensure that absolute minimum inconvenience was caused.

There were many design issues that became apparent on opening up the work and we worked very closely with the design team to accommodate the additional works required.  However the project was still completed on time and installation of the new scanner commenced as programmed by the client.
